The lineup for the 55th annual Marshall Historic Home Tour is set. There will be 19 sites including eight private homes and seven museums.
Here's your last chance to actually see "The House with a Clock in its Walls" before the movie is released. The 1873 Italianate home on North Madson Street that inspired the 1973 John Bellairs novel and the 2018 movie that premieres Sept. 20 is on tour again this year. Owner Jeff Hamilton continues his restoration of this once-neglected treasure.
Another home tour feature is the octagon building that once stored luggage at Marshall's railroad depot. It's been reconstructed next to the 1838 farmhouse of Ken and Lyne Wirtz, which is the oldest of the tour sites.
Jennifer Conley Darling, home tour chair, said, "The home tour committee is thrilled to have more private homes on tour this year and a wonderful cross section of homeowners. A younger generation is purchasing these historic homes and renovating them by honoring the original architecture with modern decor."
